Welcome Message
  Dear Reader:

You may or may not remember by now, but some time in the last year you visited the Centennial Heritage Museum Web site (centennialmuseum.org) and checked a box requesting periodic e-mail updates. We have finally gotten our act together enough to begin following up on your request. Of course, if you've decided in the meantime that marking that checkbox was all a big mistake, see the bottom of the newsletter for an Unsubscribe link.

For those who choose to stay, welcome. A number of exciting things are going on right now, and we can't wait to tell you all about them. So keep reading, and once you're done, be sure to visit our Web site for more details.

New Wedding and Facilities Coordinator

Denise Baker has agreed to be our Wedding and Facilities Coordinator. A former Centennial Heritage Museum docent and member of our office staff, Denise is now putting her experience as a wedding coordinator for her church to good use. She will be devoting all her time to ensuring that weddings and other events using our facilities go smoothly from preliminary plans through final clean-up.

To begin planning your wedding or event, call Denise at (714) 540-0424.

Thank you, Denise.

New Restrooms

Construction is now underway on a much-needed new restroom building. When it is completd, the new building will provide additional stalls and will solve the problems we have had with deteriorating floors and aging plumbing.

The original restroom building will remain in place and be converted for use as storage.

Fire Prevention Controlled Burn
Because of the heavy rains last winter, this fire season threatens to be especially hazardous. To ensure the safety of our grounds and the surrounding area, the Fire Department will be conducting a controlled burn on the drier portions of our nature park. Although we are disappointed to lose much of our natural ground cover, even temporarily, we understand that fire plays an important part in the growth cycle of the chaparral that covers our back hills. We will look forward to the spring rains bringing forth new, revitalized growth.
